These positions are ideal for a University Student who would like to work with a nonprofit, in global/ international community development and public health. They would gain experience in researching socioeconomic factors and difficulties and how our programs benefit people in Sri Lanka.

Global Development Intern

We are seeking Interns for our 501(C)3 Nonprofit organization, The Ephraim Foundation International, Inc.

We are currently seeking Interns to help with grant research/writing, program monitoring and evaluation, and  donor support. This position would be ideal for a student who would like to work with a nonprofit, in global/ international community development and public health but ALL majors welcome to apply.

 

There is always something you can learn and apply in your future career! The Intern would gain experience in researching socioeconomic factors and difficulties and how our programs benefit people in Sri Lanka; grant writing, media/ donor support and fundraising.

 

  • This is a Remote Work/ Flexible Position

Software Developer Intern

We are excited to announce an internship for software development. We are creating new and innovative programs and would love to have someone who is dedicated to becoming a change maker, creative, independent and skilled in coding languages and app development. 

 

This position would be ideal for a University Student who would like to work with a nonprofit, in global/ international community development and public health. They would gain experience in educational software development and seeing how their programs benefit rural communities in Sri Lanka and beyond.

Job Description: 

  • Remote work

  • Part time and Flexible 

  • Educational software development and app development for an on-going project for our programs in rural communities in Sri Lanka. 

  • Would report for weekly updates on goals and completion of tasks to program manager. 

  • Applications developers use experience and knowledge of different programming languages to create software. This role requires individuals to work both individually and collaboratively to write lines of code and test software for flaws. 

  • Up-to-date knowledge of different programming languages, such as C, C+, C++, Java, Javascript, Ruby and Python

  • Ability and willingness to work independently and efficiently

  • Accurately document programming and code changes

  • As an Internship - This is a project you would contribute to helping people in developing countries and gain experience in software/ app development. 

  • Gain Experience in working with an International Nonprofit and use your skills to impact people in a tangible way

  • 3 - 12 month positions available

Intern

Requirements: 

  • Compassionate/ Collaborative / Creative - we want to put in the same care and passion that we do in our projects into the team we build. Creativity in developing tasks, strategies and ideas. 

  • Adaptable - Able to understand and work with different cultures and teams

  • Responsible - Every effort we take in our projects we do knowing we have to be good stewards of time, money and the projects/ things that are set before us 

  • Education - Our goal is to uplift our communities we help and our team with opportunities to succeed. 

    • Ability to communicate and write in English; Assist with the development and submission of grants management documents including continuation proposals and semi-annual project reports.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to use the internet and other digital tools for social media/ marketing, data entry, research, and problem-solving purposes.

    • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.

    • Attention to detail and accuracy in work product. 

    • Fluent in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in language(s) spoken by client group is desired.

We are a grassroots organization and have started our mission and work in Sri Lanka. Amongst other initiatives, we have helped start a children’s education program in a rural village and will be replicating this program in another village. We are currently providing medical aid, promoting access to education programs for children, and practical assistance through nutrition, helping orphans, widows and aid through humanitarian relief programs. OUR GOAL IS TO EMPOWER RURAL COMMUNITIES IN SRI LANKA THROUGH MICRO-BUSINESS SUPPORT AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS.
